Tumble Dryer Problem

I have recently changed the element & thermostat on our Bosch WTE6920GB/04 condenser dryer. It is working fine except it isn't collecting water in the chamber. It isn't leaking water anywhere but merely losing it as steam through the top panel. Anyone any ideas?

Re: Tumble Dryer Problem

Have you cleaned the condenser unit? Also check to see if you have dislodged any pipes/connections leading to the condenser when you carried out the repair.

Re: Tumble Dryer Problem

Does water occasionally flush through the condenser unit to make it cool down and therefore condense the steam?

Re: Tumble Dryer Problem

I clean the condenser unit regularly. I generally clean the fluff filter and empty the water container after every use. I will check the pipes but I'm not great with appliances. What are the two different pipes? There is a black rubber pipe which I think takes the water to the container, but can't see where it comes from?! There is also another clear, corrugated pipe? As you can tell,I'm not big on D.I.Y!

Condenser dryers use air from outside to cool the condenser. The fan draws the cool air over condenser then to the heating element into the drum, steam in the drum then goes through the fluff filter to be condensed on the condenser unit.
The water is either gravity fed to water container if at bottom of machine or pumped if container is at top.

Washer/driers use cold water to condense the steam as they are connected to cold water supply.

I am not familiar with this model of machine as I do not work on them perhaps a better place to ask your question would be this site.

http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/index.php

It has a very good help section for problems such as yours.
