I know Cartagena well, its a beautiful old port city, you are only half an hour away from La Manga, a lovely unspoilt town with a spectacular inland sea called the Mar Menor, the water is always a good ten degrees warmer than the Med and its ideal for watersports and children as the average depth is under six feet.
One other pro is that the state of Murcia is the hottest, dryest spot in Europe, sometimes referred to as Spain's frying pan!!! I'm already envious Alferret have a great time.

Should be flying home today, all spanish flights are canceled and the earliest we can get home is next wednesday with ryanair.
26c at the moment, oh to suffer another week of this, what hardship. Bit peeved at losing a weeks wages but I would rather be here off work than in the uk off work.

Have you got accommodation and extra spends sorted? I heard about this earlier on and thought of you
Will your insurance cover you?

We are staying at the in-laws apt, so accommodation isn't a problem neither is additional expenses, just loss of wages really so all in all not to bad. Contacted the insurance and we will have to get the info to them when we get back home but I don't think that we will get much if anything from what they said seems like we'll have to get it from ryanair (which is doubtful) We're ok for cash as well so is just another week in the sun, making the most of a bad situation, my wife was really stressed about it at first but is now ok after everything has been sorted. Ho hum
