Stuff you should know but don't.
Hi,
This is about stuff you should know about but don't. I'm not talking about things
like women should know about cooking etc but the supposedly obvious things
For example I have just tried tried to pay for my mums meals on wheels and
was told I need to pay by cheque or postal order but I have no idea how to
correctly fill in a cheque and have never used a postal order.
So I mentioned this to a few people and thought i would see if anyone
on here has recently found how to do something 'easy' here.
A couple of responses I got were A women in her thirties doesn't know
how to use her microwave, a young guy - about 20 who has been driving
for a couple of years doesn't know how car washes work so gets his car valetted

Loads of good life tips on this web site http://www.marcandangel.com/2008/06/...know-how-to-do , but yeah I most people will find something they don't know how to do it..
I know when I started my driving instructor training that taking pupils to 'fill up' and in and out of multi-story car parks was never part of the lesson, it is included by most instructors I know now.

Re: Stuff you should know but don't.
Also worth looking at www.ehow.com
For the OP
http://www.ehow.com/how_1000582_writ...sh-cheque.html
For Taf
http://www.ehow.com/search.aspx?s=cancer&Options=0
Spent an hour or so last night taking my step daughter through how to read electiricity & gas metres, check for tripped switches & what a stopcock (cue sniggers) looks like. She is back to Uni next week and in a shared house this year. Obviously lessons in how to download music, films & TV by dubious means was not required....although how to BUY a round seems to have been forgotton over teh summer.

Re: Stuff you should know but don't.
The 50 things everyone should know link was useful, might browse it to see if I am doing it right (how to select good produce one will be my first check)
wasn't sure how to do a push-up was useful, thought it obvious, but maybe because I'm been doing them since a kid (old man in armed forces helped, plus competitive brothers)
Thankfully i know most, might tot up my score, and pray I get at least 80% of them...though having survived all these years must mean I'm doing something right

Hmmm, I've often left just the cardboard tube and the next time I go tube is still there but it's got paper rolled round it. Surely that's down to magic.

Re: Stuff you should know but don't.
Some for BMW & Merc owners.
1. You car has indicators that you use to tell others were you are going.
2. You do not own the road.
3. You don't have to drive so close to the car in front, that you cannot drop a credit card between bumpers.
4. you don't have to drive at 90mph on motorways.
5. You can use headlights in poor lighting and rain.
