Freezer Not Getting Cold enough
I have an upright Bosch frost freezer that up until 5 weeks ago had been showing a temperature of -22C on the display. Recently the temperature displayed has warmed up and it now struggles to freeze beyond -15 degrees. I assume this is cold enough but can anyone tell me why it won't get colder.
I have checked behind the freezer, and everything seems normal. It still sounds normal too with no unusual noises. The model is about 9 years old.
Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Re: Freezer Not Getting Cold enough
It sounds like you need gas.
A new freezer might be more economic.

Re: Freezer Not Getting Cold enough
Overfull, iced up, different ambient temp or it's faulty, any of them could cause the rise in temp..
-18c is the recommended temp for a 4 star freezer.. Have you tried turning up the controls at all??

Re: Freezer Not Getting Cold enough
The same thing happened to me but mine was a bit newer than 9 yrs old. I got re gassed and it worked for a day and then started giving me trouble again and then it started to leak really bad so just bought a new one.

I've tried turning it to -18, -22, -24 but it just comes back down to -15. It's not been over filled either. I'm thinking there could be a fault. I am planning on defrosting it for a couple of days to see if that fixes it but its 6 foot tall and theres a lot of ice cream in it to eat first.

It's a 6ft tall upright Bosch - cost a fair bit and dont mind spending @100 quid to get it fixed.I just want to make sure there is something I can do before calling out the repair man.

Re: Freezer Not Getting Cold enough
Leak as in the refridgerant gas is normally in a sealed system, if the gas escapes then there's less to compress/expand so less cooling power
