My body hates me! Yet another problem...
Hi all,
Since the beginning of this week I've had no appetite in the mornings. I always have breakfast (or at least try) but so far every morning this week I've sat down with a (small) bowl and only eaten 2-5 spoon full of my Shreddies. By that point I feel sick and can't eat anymore, so I just dump the rest. I hate wasting food but most of all I want to know why I feel like this.
Has anyone ever had morning sickness like this? I'm a guy remember, so I can't be pregnant!
I always feel crap until lunch time or after, changes randomly each day. By the evening I feel fine, then the same repeats the next day.
I always feel very hungry when I wake up to the point my stomach is crying out for food, but when I eat I just feel like not eating any more.
Any help welcomed.
Thanks,
Andy

I would book to see a doctor and tell him about this and the headaches.

Re: My body hates me! Yet another problem...
I get the headaches randomly, I already know most are caused by migraines. The doctor would only prescribe paracetamol/asprin, as he has done every time in the past.
I've had loss of appetite in the morning before but never this bad or for so long. It might just be me recovering from the headaches and the loss of appetite that brought but I don't know.

Re: My body hates me! Yet another problem...
When I used to have migraines it would be that I had very little energy after an attack especially if it lasted for more than one day..lethargy after an attack is fairly common.
I think you need to read up about migraines and see what sort you MAY have. You may not actually be having them.
Also make sure you keep a diary and note all symptoms so you hav something to tell the doctor next time.

Re: My body hates me! Yet another problem...
I was diagnosed with having migraines when I was 6, and again when I was 12. I know it's a migraine because I get a visual aurora 30 mins before the attack starts, a common sign of a migraine attack.
I've never lost my appetite before due to a migraine except during the attack which leaves me in a state where I can barely stand/walk anyway. As I said in my previous topic I might have had mild food poisoning, could this cause it?

Lucky you.I always threw up during an attack.
Having gone through the menopause I no longer have them.

I'm no medical expert, but i can't help feel its just how your migraines have changed over the years and now as a result of one, you suffer with supressed appetite for a few days
I used to feel sick but now i don't when i have one. But i always suffer the aura.
Best to get it checked out and maybe push for a scan (hard to get but with persistance your GP will give in).

Re: My body hates me! Yet another problem...
I've come close and only once or twice thrown up but that's because I was being dragged around beyond my will through a shopping centre by my Mum! Got home and threw up twice
You could be right superbiatch, but as I said above my GP just prescribes paracetamol every time, so I stopped bothering.

I'd change my GP if I felt they were fobbing me off, you're a young man who shouldn't be suffering these problems so be persistant

Re: My body hates me! Yet another problem...
I've used several over the last 12 years and they're all the same unfortunately. I even mentioned it while I was in hospital to get the same response!

Well in that case i think your PCT is poor (I work for a PCT lol). But my friend is undergoing various tests at the minute for her migraines, she's had a scan and she's been prescribed various medications.
Incidentally, one medication i can highly recommend (but its prescription only) is Sumatriptan. You take it within the first half an hour of your aura developing and its stops it dead in its tracks, apparently migraines in their simplest form are narrowing of the arteries and this medication keeps the blood flowing iirc.

Re: My body hates me! Yet another problem...
Thanks for that info. I'll make a note and ask my doctor next time I go for whatever reason. I've seen a few you can buy over the counter that claim to do this as well - do they work just as well as prescription ones?

Migraleve are fine, but you'll find in the end they all stop working imo.

Does switching between them help at all?
