Headache and burping a lot (for days so far)?
Hi all,
I wonder if anyone has ever suffered this - bad headache lasting days (not quite a migraine) and burping lots even without taking a drink, etc. Anyone had this? What was the explanation?
I went home yesterday with the bad headache and the burping still hasn't stopped, and I've had it for a few days now. I've been taking 2 paracetamol every 4 hours and it's not helping either.
Any advise or insight appreciated.
Andy

Are you eating?
What are you eating?
Mint can help with the burping, so try and get some mints, or rennies.
Headaches can be caused by not drinking enough liquid, For some strange reason the human body turns of the thirst mechanisim when we get to dehydrated.
Becareful about taking to many paracetamol, it make thing worse, many years ago I had a root canal, and I took to many and It upset my stomach and I threw up several times.

Yes I'm eating when I can, and just what I would normally eat day to day.
I'll try and track down some mint or chewing gum
I'm drinking lots - to the point where I pee clear, so it's not dehydration.
I'm sticking to the max dose allowed for the paracetamol, I'm also taking tramadol but that has no effect on headaches, only my long lasting abdomen pain.

AFAIK
Bacterial stomach infection can cause sudden, long periods of burping (and the other thing) especially Helicobacter pylori.... see a doctor as they can also cause ulcers.
And be carefull what meds you take before then as some can irritate the stomach and cause severe irritation.

Do the burps leave a egg like flavour in the mouth?

I was 32 when I suffered H. Pylori ulcers. 4 days in hospital, not nice. Dont recall burping though, just plenty of passing out due to loss of blood.

No, just the taste of whatever I last ate or drank, in my case my breakfast or orange juice.
Headache has almost gone now, hopefully will be fully gone tomorrow. I think it was probably a migraine I got during the night and lingers for a few days.
It also could have been mild food poisoning after looking up burping and headaches, which would make most sense since I have just come back from a weeks camping where it was entirely possible and most likely.
Burping seems to have calmed right down now after having some minty chewing gum (worked wonders that one), and I have at least got enough appetite back to eat dinner.
Don't know what I'd do without you guys! You always have the answers. Many thanks. Hopefully I'll have fully recovered by tomorrow.
