Triffids.....

Hi guys,

My elderly relative has a huge blackberry bush growing in her back garden that will not go away. A friend cut it all down at one point but didn't get the roots so now it's all growing back and taking over the garden, I'd say it's at least 16 square metres in total. Anyone got any idea how to eradicate this pest? I thought of buying a giant container of Roundup and drenching the thing....

Re: Triffids.....

Fire. Lots of fire.

In the event you actually don't want to destroy everything then combination of cutting as much back as possible and trying to remove the roots then following up with plenty of weedkiller.

Re: Triffids.....

Yep, you need to chop it all back then apply a root killer (the one on DanielF's link is one of the best)
