Useful tips during hot spells.

Recently my daughters GoGear got stuck on voice recording. No buttons would work. Connecting it to the PC didn't work.

In desperation I stuck it in the fridge for a few hours. Even though it did not feel hot.

Problem solved. Works fine now.

Also had an over heated mobile which wouldn't charge so stuck that in the fridge to cool.

just be mindful of condentsation build up, which can potentially wreck components and cause moisture to sit behind / in the screen.

Yup, put it into a sealed plastic bag, and keep it in it until it reaches room temperature... I used to do the same with 35mm film.

Re: Useful tips during hot spells.

If you have the VM box, modem, DVD etc in a TV cabinet leave the doors ajar to prevent them overheating. Most tech stuff is OK to about 35 degrees but the heat can build up if the doors are shut.
