Female motorist clamped.
Female motorist clamped... as she did a U-turn in a car park
Quote:
|
Two men approached her and ordered her to switch off the engine. When she obeyed, they fitted a clamp to her car.

Re: Female motorist clamped.
Reading that, and if it's true. then I would beat the crap out of the clampers. I really would.

Re: Female motorist clamped.
I would have drove the car into the side of the van called the police and say they pulled out in front of me as I was driving

Absolutely disgusting though I don't see the point in mentioning the gender of the motorist in the headline. If you read the whole thing they have done this to male and female alike so its not like they are focusing just on vulnerable female motorists or anything.

The thing is the DM is basically just a women's magazine these days. Not suprising they publish all news these days from a POV of evil men exploiting poor vunerable women.

So they put people in a position to clamp them. Daylight robbery and no one can stop them from doing it as it's not illegal.

It is in Scotland. Up here clamping a car is classed as extortion and only the DVLA can do it.

Re: Female motorist clamped.
Private clampers along with bailiffs are the most immoral 'professions'
I understand that some parking needs to be controlled and action has to be taken against hardcore 'problem' parkers but I can't see why it's not regulated by the DVLA in Scotland. It would get the knuckle-draggers off the street and might even get extra revenue in the public coffers.

Re: Female motorist clamped.
As far as I`m concerned, that was extortion. They stopped her so they could clamp the car?? I`m afraid I would be looking for some payback from these two moronic thieves.

Actually unless you're careful you can get done for 'gaining money with meneces', also their badge and living is on the line if they mess up to, salient lesson for everyone to take on board here is if a clamper asks you to switch your engine of don't do it, they have no right to ask you and know it's against the rules to clamp a vehicle with the engine running.

In your opinion, however if like quite a few of my neighbours I had payed 20k+ for a parking space I am darn certain no one else would be parking in it.

It is regulated in England and Wales as well and the regulator has teeth in the form of large fines and prison sentences
