Mountain Dew returns to the UK
A citrus flavoured drink enriched in Caffein Mountain Dew returned to the UK last month.
In 1997 PepsiCo and Britvic trialled out Mountain Dew, Energy drinks were not popular back then so there was little demand. Well it is back and impressed at least now I don't have to put up with Red Bull and other drinks which have a similar taste of rotting fruit.

Returned? I heard it's nothing like the original Mountain Dew of years ago.

I'd quite like to see Rivella make a reappearance.

Re: Mountain Dew returns to the UK
People don't need more energy drinks, they need a firework up their backside.
Everywhere I go people of all ages, but mostly teenagers, are carrying their energy drink but they all get under my feet, god people are so slow these days.
A walking stick for people over fifty is fast becoming the norm, the other week three blokes got off the bus at one stop and each one had a walking stick, what is going on!!!
When I was a sprog,, people had nothing, yet seeing someone with a walking stick was a very rare sight indeed, today it is fast becoming a fashion accessory.

You were always able to buy this drink, you could find it in Afghan, Arab or Turkish shops mostly

It's about the only self-defense item that an old git can get away with these days..

Re: Mountain Dew returns to the UK
The stuff they released here first time around tasted nowt like the real thing. If I remember rightly, back then the caffeine content of the drink was actually lower than the stuff you get in the US. Different story now though.
according to Wiki: "it also has a higher caffeine content of 18mg/100ml rather than the 15.5mg/100ml used in the American product"

Re: Mountain Dew returns to the UK
The Mountan Dew over here part of Pepsi and distributed by Britvic is an Energy Drink.
Unlike the USA version, it contains less crap like having no Brominated Vegetable oil, it does however have a lot more Caffeine than the US version.
I like it and its so refreshing in the morning!
It will be available at larger Sainsbury's over the next few weeks.
Currently Pepsi and Mountain Dew as well as Tango are 2 for £1.50 at Sainsbury's local.
---------- Post added at 20:07 ---------- Previous post was at 19:57 ----------
Also Sunny Delight, a newer version has been introduced with less sugar and a lot less artificial ingredients, it tastes nice as well.
The US version still remains the same as it did in 2000.
Does Sunny Delight make you orange? No!
Sunny Delight,Tango,Robinsons,Fanta and a few more that are Orange coloured contain a NATURAL Colouring called Beta-Caratene, formed from a concentrated solution of oranges and carrots, now the Beta-Caratene used in Sunny Delight is higher than Fanta and Tango as this is vital for the drink to contain the Vitamin A, Beta-Caratene is a good source for Vitamin A. Consume excessive amounts and the Vitamin A and Beta Caratene will store itself for a week beneath the skins surface and will make you look orange/tanned. It is not harmful at all, in fact fake tan is made from the same solution.
Now when you are 4 years old and drink 5 litres of Sunny Delight or Beta Caretene containing drinks, your body will obviously store all that Vitamin A.
Thats why she turned orange because her mother gave it to her,
You wouldn't give a child 4 litres of pure Orange or Carrot juice would you, you would get the runs!!! So why would you give a child of that age 4 litres of a Orange high juice such as Sunny Delight and Robinsons?
Everything in moderation!!!

Homer Simpson: Now, what do you have to wash that awful taste out of my mouth?
Khlav Kalash Vendor: Mountain Dew or Crab Juice.
Homer Simpson: Blecch! Ew! Sheesh! I'll take a crab juice.

Grabbed a bottle of it today from Stafford services and they've done a good job this time around: tastes just like the proper stuff to me
(shock horror, the fridges do actually work in the BP station bit!)
