Cheap fish tanks North west
Does anyone know anywhere in the NW that do custom built fish tanks at good prices, Im after something about 4ft across x 3ft high with a cabinet, need a bigger tank before one of my crazy Malawi's wipes out everything in my tank, its even started attacking one of these.... with spines so sharp it pierced through two bags and cut the guys arm who was getting it out the tank when I bought it, yet it still attacks it
heres what the malawi looks like
Much more of this and its going down the toilet, over £75 worth of malawis its killed up to now, one of them was gorgeous aswell
Need a bigger tank because I want one of these, though no doubt it will attack this aswell
Gizza kiss

Do ye have a paper that has free ads on it because if you have you will always find someone who has one for sale or to give away one for free. By the way your fish are lovely. What kind of fish are they. Never saw that kind of fish before

Re: Cheap fish tanks North west
The easiest thing would be to return the Malawi to a shop.
That is what I do when I want to change, I always get something in return (more fish or plants etc)

Re: Cheap fish tanks North west
It could be worth contacting Urmston Aquatics.
They are a great firm and may be able to help. If nothing else they are worth knowing about for their fish rooms, their price match policy, and just the shear amount of stuff they stock. If you are ever near junction 9 on the M60 pay them a visit.
Oh and mention your killer fish to them, you might find they are interested in doing a trade. Better that than using it to scour out the loo.

Re: Cheap fish tanks North west
Getting the water balance in a tank is most important.
Getting the right mix of fish is just as important.
Fry it with chips.

The tank is named ‘Kuroshio Sea’ and it is the second largest aquarium tank in the world. It holds 7,500-cubic meters (1,981,290 gallons) of water and features the world’s second largest acrylic glass panel, measuring 8.2 meters by 22.5 meters with a thickness of 60 centimeters. Whale sharks and manta rays are kept amongst many other fish species in the main tank.

Re: Cheap fish tanks North west
Ive changed my mind and going get one used off one of the fish forums with everything it needs. Many thanks for all the links though, theres a few shops I didnt know about that I can visit and I can even nip and see the family in Flixton whilst Im at it. Best go alone though or I'll get dragged round the Trafford Centre. I was tempted to go marine but it seems like too much hard work so Im sticking with tropical. Roll on payday!
Taff that tanks awesome, it might just fit in the back garden but I dont think the missus would be too happy about opening the bedroom window to be greeted by a shark Dread to think how much it cost them to build that! That diver at the bottom looks tiny in there. Ive gone from wanting a 5/6ft one, to having one in the fireplace opening but Ive now decided on a 350litre corner one, it will stop me being nagged at if its "not in the way" and it will be big enough for now..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEzfG...eature=related

Re: Cheap fish tanks North west
Just thought Id let you all know, hunting for a bargain pays off! I ended up with a 5ft one, even better its a marine tank and Im loving it Dont want to sound like some sort of fish geek but I can watch it for ages and its better than watching the tv, well daytime tv anyway. Bearing in mind the tank and stand are about £900 new, I got everything, fish equipment etc for £325 and the guy even set it up at my house and helped me move it. Nicest lad Ive met, even went to his for a beer yesterday.
Anyway, a few pics of what I got, the fish alone are worth more than I paid for everything! Only thing is I need loads of rock and at £10Kg it aint cheap! Tanks looking a bit bare but with rock and more corals should look good
some more fish, crabs, starfish etc but they are camera shy
Oh and many thanks to jo, put a container of ice in the sump and that helped bring the temp down

Re: Cheap fish tanks North west
Looking good speedy. Glad I was able to help.
Now if only I could find a fresh/cold water Ghost shrimp that didn't cost the earth to ship to me I too would be happy but that's another thread.
