Camping Supplies
Are there any camping fans here?
I'm looking for a travel salt and vinegar pot.
I've seen two type of salt pot, one has a screw lid on either end, one for salt one for pepper, the other has a sprung loaded button for grinding salt.
but can I find a vinegar pot with a screw type lid? no.

Why not just use the vinegar bottle?

The bottle is to big and made of glass, I'm only looking for a size that could fit in a backpack, so around 100ml.
Others only have the std top which will spil.

Re: Camping Supplies
Try places like Boots etc for 100 ml bottles designed for hand luggage on planes. I know the wife bought some a while ago (but not where).

Re: Camping Supplies
I've been going camping for about 5 years now, but to woodland not camp sites. My kit might be a bit different to yours.
I always do what Tuftus does and get a few sachets of sauce from the pub lol.

Go to somewhere like BodyShop or Boots and buy a little refillable perfume bottle (only a quid or two).. You just fill with vinegar and then spray it over the food you want.

Not sure though if bodyshop still does them but boots do 50ml or 100ml versions of this

Will they be ok for vinegar? I only ask as some have a metal spring and the acid in the vinegar will corrode the spring.
I remember putting milk in one of these for work and the milk went funny and stained the bottle.

Re: Camping Supplies
They'll be fine for vinegar.. The ones I was trying to find again in Bodyshop is a small glass version with a metal cover..
You could also ask at the chemist as they'll normally quite happily sell you a small glass medicine bottle

Re: Camping Supplies
Otherwise boots do a screw cap travel bottle.
Use your finger/thumb to control flow when pouring.

Re: Camping Supplies
I would go for the sachet idea, either swipe some from a pub or get them from Ebay as per papa smurf

Indeed, they pack down smaller than a bottle and take up less space as you use them.
Plus a few pub lunches and you will have as much as you will need for a while

You can still get them but the click on lid is to flimsy for camping, I would go with the sachets all the way.
