Cat done a runner
Hi all
We have a cat 1yr old in May, she goes out whenever but always comes back, she went out last night about 9pm and is normally back by 10.30 or when we call her.
However i stayed up till 12pm calling her but no show. Walked round the block thinking the worst she may have been hit by a car but nothing.
However a friend has said her cat went off for 3days and then came back like nothing happened.
She has been done so not ran off with a male cat, but have any of you had a similar scenario described above?
Thanks in advance

Re: Cat done arunner
Had it happen twice, with two different cats - the first cat didn't come back, the second one did.
I know it's difficult, but all you can really do is wait and see. You could also try ringing 'round the local cat homes and vets to see if anybody's found her and taken her there.

Re: Cat done arunner
yes my friend's cat went missing for about 2 weeks and sauntered back as if nothing was wrong ,my own cat will stay all night and most of the next day in warm weather ,usually cats that have been "done" tend not to roam that far
good luck finding her anyway

Re: Cat done arunner
yeah rang RSPCA and cats protection, she is ID chipped, but is a bugger for taking her collar off, we go through a few each month so she could look like stray.
Well going to print some flyers with cash reward that should get the local kids looking for her for £50-£100 cash.

Re: Cat done arunner
My cousins cat went missing.
They last saw it when she was taking here two kids to school, it was walking behind them.
They found it under a bush the following day, afraid to leave. Apparently a passing lorry had sent it fleeing.
It is possible that it had followed you and was scared.
Or she has found herself a great big tom.
Most cats have at least 3 homes.
She'll be back when she's hungry

Re: Cat done arunner
just hoping someone hasn't locked her in a shed or garage by accident :-( If she is in another house nice and warm thats ok.
A black tom cat has been hanging around our garden but as she has been done i thought both would not be interested.
well food is next to cat flap so hopefully she'll be back soon as the 'mrs' is really worried

Re: Cat done arunner
try walking around your area, looking in bushes etc ask your neighbours to check their shed / garages.

Re: Cat done arunner
We had 2 cats. They used to come and go as they pleased both were about 8 months old. One day they didnt come back, then 2 days later the tom came back he hung around for 4 or 5 weeks then stayed away for 5 nights came back for a fortnight and we havnt seem him since Nov 09. I thought I saw the female about 2 weeks ago not far from our house but they wernt chipped so I cant say whether or not it was her.

Re: Cat done a runner
Aww thats great news, I had exactly the same happen to me with Harvey (now deceased). It wasnt in his nature to not come back and I knew something was wrong. I drove out of my cul-de-sac to see him lying at the side of the road - been knocked over. I'm so happy yours came to a happy ending

I read this and felt compelled to watch the excellent cartoon - The Cat Came Back
