A recipe you don't follow to the letter
An Aussie cook book has had to be pulped and reprinted when in one recipe instead of "salt and freshly ground black pepper" it stated "salt and freshly ground black people"!!!

Just as well they caught that (almost) in time!
It was extremely offensive of them to assert that "freshly ground black people" might in any way taste better than other races, when ground freshly on pasta.

exactly, if anything you'd pick a "freshly ground italian" for pasta dishes

Mistaken choice from spell check choices? Eg 'peple' yields people or pepper in Firefox spell checker.

Re: A recipe you don't follow to the letter
It must be from the Blue Mink school of cuisine. I doubt if the lyrics of the classic melting pot would get past the PC censors now but their intentions were correct:
Take a pinch of white man
wrap him up in black skin
Add a touch of blue blood
and a little bit of red indian boy
{it gets better... or worse depending on your view}
curly latin and kinky
mixed with yellow chinkies
if you lump it all together
then you've got a recipe for a get along scene ( or something like that)
I'm not sure if that's one that Deliah Smith reccomends.

No, I can't see any cover versions of that one hitting the charts any time soon!
It's quite surprising that (the most glorious) Alan Partridge 'got away with it', just ten or so years ago!
Hard to imagine the Beeb letting that through today.
