Parkers Guide
Anyone got (paid) access to this, and want to do me a favour? - want to check the value of a 97 car for an insurance quote - but Parkers only gives free values for 2000+

Re: Parkers Guide
I don't have access, but I saw a copy of the book in my local Sainsbury's, but I didn;t look to see what years they covered.

Re: Parkers Guide
Your estimation is a bit on the mean side and maybe selling yourself a bit short. I would value the car at about eight hundred pounds retail and that is what you should consider reasonable to expect from an insurance company. Insurance companies do not use Parkers as a price guide, they are more likely to use the lower of Glass's or CAP's valuations to start with. Never accept the first offer, always hold out for more. Research retail prices on the internet and at used car dealerships. Get proof of what it would cost to replace the car. Be wary of your insurance compnay using a "best deal" clause, you should not be be expected to negotiate on an advertised price.

Wouldn't be to worried about getting it a few quid out for quote purposes, in fact it's better for your car to be worth over a grand anyway. Exchange and Mart might help if all else fails....
