Dull paintwork - any ideas?
So, for the second time, I've accidentally bought a car on eBay. Oops! So, this means that I now have to sell existing car (Golf GTi) as a matter of urgency. The nearside rear wing has dull paint. Have spent a couple of hours T-cutting it but it's still dull. If you scrape it with covered nail (ie through the cloth) it looks as though the paint underneath is still shiny. Does anyone have any brilliant ideas what I could do to restore it?

Re: Dull paintwork - any ideas??
Are you getting all the T-CUT off properly. it leaves a dry surface that's hard to get off.
try washing it off and applying decent polish and wax.

Re: Dull paintwork - any ideas?
go over it with fine grade rubbing compound, I would suggest tetrosyl pro-tet c3. then wax it after. your local car parts shop may have some.

Re: Dull paintwork - any ideas?
Yeah - thanks guys. I don't know why, but I get the impression that you think I'm a bit of a plank! I can't imagine why!
It's quite easy to accidentally buy a car on eBay. Just like accidentally buying another pair of black shoes. You see. You like. You buy. You think. In that order. Followed by ... You confess ... to long suffering but immeasurably (see - a big word!) patient partner.
Yes - I've got all the T-cut off. I even asked my partner to try because he's a man and MUCH MUCH stronger than I am. Obviously. And he can't make it any shinier.
Yes - I've taken it to the car wash and had the most expensive job of all - most of the car looks lovely, but there's still a problem with the rear wing.
AND it's not the man's money. It's mine! Well, the bank's actually, but we share everything!!
So now that we've got all the stupid women/strong men things out of the way, does anyone have anything helpful...?
I was wondering about using some wet look gel...

Only that they come mostly in white and get hot when you want them to.

Re: Dull paintwork - any ideas?
Ssssh. I haven't actually mentioned it to my bank yet - although they are very nice... That's why I'm trying to make my Golf look lovely. Because I need to sell it. Fast.
Yes for hair. It's either that or Pledge. Although it will take me longer to locate the Pledge.
