Any Drum experts here?
Hey guys, well a couple of days ago my dad wanted me to move my drum kit so he could put a shelf up, but in the process of moving the kit my Hi hat collapsed and now I need to fix it I have attached some pics below to see if you can help its only the top part that I need to fix so that I can use it again when I come to practice.

The pics don`t really show a lot mate and yes i used to play the drums.
It looks like you just need to screw the top hi hat mount back on, if thats what you`re showing us. Your description is a little bit vague.
Felt washer goes against the top cymbal then the metal washer, then the top clamp, not too tight.

Right...... Put the long threaded part onto the top cymbal, ie top clamp, metal washer, felt washer cymbal then felt washer and bottom screw mount. Do them up but not so tight that it chokes the cymbal.

Look on top of the bottom cymbal and you should see a knurled nut. screw that onto the top cymbal clamp from underneath.
Look on the spindle that moves up and down when you put your foot on the pedal, you might find the nut on there.
Either that or you have dropped it when you took the top hi hat cymbal off.

What do you mean too high?
Lower the top cymbal and then tighten the clamp so the top cymbal is about 20-30 mm from the bottom cymbal.
Show me a picture of it please.

Re: Any Drum experts here?
Ok. Undo the top clamp on the top cymbal so it falls onto the bottom cymbal. press the hi hat pedal down to the bottom, lift your foot up about 25 mm and then tighten the top cymbal clamp up. this should give you the correct distance between your top cymbal and your bottom cymbal.

Have you tried what i suggested mate?

yeah the clamp came off again, its almost as if the nut on the bottom is preventing it from closing properly. I may ask my neighbour nicely if he will look at it for me tomorrow

Ok, Sorry if i lost my patience a little bit mate.
The nut underneath should`nt prevent it from closing buddy. Have another look at it. If not, then ask your neighbour.
You can always pm me with pics if you like.
