Holiday season is nearly upon us
Within the next couplf of weeks, everyone will be sitting down and planning there summer hols, where shall we go this year ?
Will will get conned by the travel agent for a good holiday or ripped off by the insurance company, or do we choose a good holiday in the UK.
Butlins are too expensive compared to other holidays camps, any suggestions.

Re: Holiday season is nearly upon us
I always book our family holiday on the web, by renting apartments and booking flights and car separately (but all by credit card for payment protection). As for being ripped off by the insurance company, we have an annual policy, which covers us travelling together or separately, so I think it's good value for money.
Probably off to Puerto Pollensa or Cyprus this summer - yet to decide (normally book it in December / January, but we had to wait to see if my daughter was accepted for her PGCE course).

Re: Holiday season is nearly upon us
I'm off to Barcelona at the end of April for a few days and then off to Turkey (Akbuk) in October, renting a luxury villa for a week

Re: Holiday season is nearly upon us
Depends on a couple of things.
i. UK or abroad.
ii. No of days
iii. Budget.
Myself, I'm of to Green Farm Caravan Park, in Great Yarmouth for 2 weeks in July, the cost is some £500 cheaper than the camp we ued to go to, plus we visit family up there.

Re: Holiday season is nearly upon us
Love it when the kids are off school, means the roads are quieter (less SUV`s) in the morning
You can normally go abroad for what a holiday in this country costs....!!!

Re: Holiday season is nearly upon us
Canaries again later this month.
Getting bored with it though, I think we only go as we like the naturist beach there, nice and private.
Need to find a new holiday haunt I think.

Re: Holiday season is nearly upon us
We have already booked and are gearing up to go
8th May (just under 5 weeks ) we are off to Turkey again. This time Olu Deniz. Got what we think is a great deal. 2 week AI, flights, transfers, in flight meals, preferential seats, late checkout, extra luggage, anniversary package and a quite room all for 850.

Re: Holiday season is nearly upon us
We go away several times a year, my fave is Telford, a gang of us having a few beers around a camp fire in the evenings and loads of mud during the day.
Next one is August bank holiday, 3 nights camping/caravan, a free BBQ and a day playing in mud for £40 per family.
pS. we play in 4x4's, its not kinky stuff

Re: Holiday season is nearly upon us
I remember when I first started working travel - it was a joy to match a customer with a holiday - we used to call ourselves "Dream-makers". Conning people didn't come into it.
