Chiminea Advice!

Hi,

Her indoors has got a chiminea. It's new one, made from clay and not been used yet.

We know not to put it outside due to the frost risk. We also know that we should make a few small fires on sand inside it before we really start to use it.

We've also got some chiminea sealant to waterproof it. Do we use this first to seal it up, or do we have the small fires first to dry it out?
