Re: Think! Bike campaign, free sticker
Car or bike, going away from an accident without exchanging insurance details is wrong, but in the case of a wing mirror not deadly, unlike cars not seeing bike and pulling out in front of them..
Sorry but you are disparaging a road safety campaign designed to save lives with thoughts of £95+VAT..

yes i know ,he didn't leave run off, details where exchanged(red traffic light) pointless though that is but i was still left driving home tonight in fowl weather with no drivers wing mirror in a transit van with no rear view mirror ,yes i agree with the current safety campaigne because bikes (motor or otherwise)are easy to miss ,but we should also have one aimed at bikers and some of stupid things they do

Re: Think! Bike campaign, free sticker
Cheers for the link Kymmy, there are far to many drivers that glance instead of looking, and in defence of bikes, nobody ever notices the good riders

Re: Think! Bike campaign, free sticker
Thanks Kymmy, My order has been placed.
I have had a few close ones with cars just changing lanes into the lane I'm in, when I am directly alongside them. I always try to avoid their blind-spot but some drivers seem to have a 360 degree blind-spot.

Not sure if it's even related to the modern 'Think Bike' campaign though?

Re: Think! Bike campaign, free sticker
Mine is on its way.
I do wonder whether drivers are aware they can use their wing mirrors (when they still have them ) to look behind them whilst driving. Rather than only using them when parking (if then).

Re: Think! Bike campaign, free sticker
Do they do one for the bikers to remind them that there's cars on the road as well as just them?

Re: Think! Bike campaign, free sticker
Ordered I used to ride motorbikes so I am well aware of bikers, the ones that annoy are the summer fools who think a T shirt will protect them from a gravel rash and mince hands.

...but in the case of wing mirror missing becuase a biker has knocked it off and then and car pulling out in front of another biker may be a different story, uh?

Is there really any need to turn and twist the original aim of this thread?
Both points are valid, but why turn it into a debate/argument, that will no doubt take us away from the promotion of a good cause for all concerned.
I would suggest to create another thread with regards to that
Edit: LS, this was not aimed at your directly, but also other posters

Re: Think! Bike campaign, free sticker
I got several emails regarding the process, and its in the post
I'll stick it in the back window of my gas guzzling 4x4 to let Bikers know I am aware.
That applies to peeps on pedal bikes aswell, they tend to be invisible to a lot of drivers

I'm entilted to an opinion and that's my opinion - and who turned you into a moderator all of a sudden?
