1,000 volunteers wanted for naked Lowry 'tribute'

The arts centre has commissioned photographer Spencer Tunick to mark its 10th anniversary with one of his famous nude mass gatherings.

He is appealing for 1,000 people to strip off and be photographed at eight landmark spots around Salford and Manchester. One location which is likely to be used is Manchester’s Albert Square, in front of the town hall. His images will then form the centrepiece of an exhibition at The Lowry later in the year titled Everyday People.

Be a tad too chilly for most Mancunians to consider taking their thermals off that early in the year. Plus I think the picture could be spoiled by all the umbrellas.
