Malta
Well, it's that time of year when thoughts turn to holidays. Anyone been to Malta/Gozo?
What's your opinion? We like the look of the historical side with the possibility of going to the north for a few relaxing beach days.
Whilst looking for flights to various places, I noticed that Jet2 now consider check-in to be an optional extra. £1 each way per person for online check-in with no bags up to £6 each way for airport check-in with hold luggage! A disgraceful way to keep the headline flight price down IMO...

Re: Malta
A bit too hot for me at the height of summer but a lovely island. If you're considering hiring a car forget anything you learned in the highway code and toot your horn a lot.

Re: Malta
A friend of mine used to holiday in Malta every year. He's changed to Italy now, mainly because his mrs is half Italian and has family there.

Also the buses all go to Valetta. So if you're in, for example Bugibba, and want to go 5 miles up the coast you've got to go all the way into Valetta and get the bus back out..

Would you rather risk hiring a car on the island, I know I would not.
The buses are cheap and go everywhere and are part of the charm of Malta.

Re: Malta
An air conditioned tank is the best option.
Personally, in the summer months I wouldnt' try to do a lot of travelling round the island. I'd have that sort of holiday in Spring or Autumn.

Re: Malta
Thanks for everyone's input.
Still think we might go for it, stay self catering & hire a car!
