Well, I wouldn't expect Dawkins to sit still while I lectured him on Evolutionary Biology, and I'm certainly not about to sit and take a lesson in theology from him. Given his disdain for the subject, I don't think I'll be paying too much attention to what he thinks the Bible does or does not say about disasters. Pot, kettle, 'nuff said.
This one really isn't going anywhere. Those who need to cling to something more than the real world puts in front of them will continue to do so, those scared of mortality will continue to believe in immortal life through the deity of their choosing, those who do not wish to confront reality alone will continue to use religion to help them get through life.
Whatever works for people really. Matters of faith are always going to be a pointless debate as there wouldn't be much faith involved if an opinion could be changed so easily.
