How long have you got before she hands it in?
And as I cannot read that tiny text I haven't clue what you have to do.

Right click and open in a new tab in Firefox and left click and it will fill the page.

Re: Home work help ?????
I haven't completed it as I got stuck on the first 3 on line 3, but got the rest after 10 mins.
But for a 9 year old I think thats a bit tough.

Re: Home work help ?????
This is a really poor exercise.
The problem is that there are multiple correct answers - for example you can reverse the 1 and 4 on the top line and still be correct.
That makes it really difficult to work out the solution 'methodically' as asked because you can't reach a point where you've shown that a number can't fit in any of the other squares so it has to be in this one.
So the way to solve this is by ignoring the 'Dear Helper' stuff and using trial and error. What skill does that help her to learn, exactly? Other than degree level heuristic algorithm optimisation techniques?

Those were my thoughts as well actually. 6 and 12 can be exchanged as well, and that does make it a lot more difficult.

I think technicaly speaking that 1 doesn't count as a factor (it is assumed to be a factor of all numbers)
it took me about 10 mins but couldn't split the 6/12 on the first row!!
I'll refer it to the resident maths teacher when I get home tonight
