removing oil stain

I had a glazier around a few days ago to repair a window and yesterday i notice there is an oil stain the size of a 1p piece in my curtains.

How do i go about removing this?

Re: removing oil stain

Blot it with kitchen towels to remove as much as you can. You can sprinkle some talc on it too to absorb even more.

You can then pretreat that area with a pre stain such as vanish and then wash it at as hot a temperature as the fabric will allow.

Obviously a lot depends on the material but a simple degreaser might be worth a try. Always test anything you intend to try on an inconspicuous area of the material first though!
