Stopped Smoking
About 4-5 days ago, in the night i had a few drinks and my friend tried to give me a cig, but i said no (i am a smoker by the way) since then i didn't smoke because i don't feel like it at all, yesterday i did have one but thats because i had a couple of drinks and i was stupid.
what could have caused me not feeling like a smoke?

Re: Stopped Smoking
did you realise it costs a fortune, makes you smell horrible, yellows your hands/fingers and can cause fatal illness?

Re: Stopped Smoking
It actually saps a huge amount of your energy too, part of the reason for weight gain is because your body is no longer having to waste resources repairing itself and countering poisons.

Re: Stopped Smoking
Nice cup of coffee and a ciggie 1st thing starts my day, I only smoke 5 a day so it's not going to hurt me.
My doctor gave me a rollocking the other week, he said I'm to fit my heart was beating at 32 BPM resting rate, I said it's not bad for a smoker is it? He said, "you don't smoke with a heart rate like that", I said yep I do, I can get it lower than that sometimes I can get it down to 29 BPM. I run 4 times a week, play football twice a week, and go to the gym 4 times a week. I said, "I bet your going to tell me to pack up smoking now aren't you"?? He said "no carry on what your doing".

Then your GP is not doing his job - even smoking small amounts can have a detrimental effect on your health. He/she should be informing you (just as every health professional) of the dangers and offer you assistance to quit. Then the choice is yours.
Do you think its more habit than an addiction Nidge?

If there is one I could name more than any as the cig I miss most, it would be one the one to accompany my brew first thing in the morning. In fact, probably about 75% of the people we see say the same

TBH the way Nidge is describing it,there may not be a problem... as long as he enjoys the cigs,it is ok,imho.

Now come on Will, its been proven that any smoke (secondhand included) is harmful
But is down to personal choice, so long as its an informed choice then my work here is done

Re: Stopped Smoking
I know it's bad for me and other people but I make sure the door is open in the kitchen when I'm having a smoke, if it's to cold I'll have to cooker hood going to take the smoke outisde.
