Anybody been interviewed as part of IiP?
Afternoon all
My employer is having their IIP status re-assessed, and as part of the process the IiP people want to interview a cross-section of the workforce.
My name was chosen entirely at random and so I get to be the chosen one for the day.
Anybody know what sorts of questions they're likely to ask, is there any documentation I can read through to prepare? I know they're not examining me, but the company, but I'd like to be able to make the most of the opprtunity and so I'm thinking it would be good to understand a bit more about what's going on rather than just going in blind.
Thanks

What they are looking for is what training is offered, what staff consultation and involvement there is and what encouragement & support is available if staff would like non company provided training.
Not scary or difficult at all, providing the company remains up to date on all the above.

Re: Anybody been interviewed as part of IiP?
Hmmm, ok - thanks for that
They've never refused me any external training, the internal training we have is largely irrelevant to what I'm doing because I'm in such a specialist role. The only real training issues I have is that we were told to identify our required training courses for this coming year so that they could tell us what money we have available and then we never heard anything, and that previously they've agreed to sponsor me for an external course and then insisted that I agreed to sign an addition to my contract saying I would stay with them for another 3 years aftter the course or pay the entire cost back.
So, is IiP all about training and development then, or are the interested in other areas?

Re: Anybody been interviewed as part of IiP?
My hubby was picked at random to be interviewed for this in his company.
His company pulled the few people who had been picked and gave them specific training on it, answers to give etc. Sounded rather weird to me as it is meant to be your opinion?
I think it covers everything, like if you have been able to get flexible working if requested etc.

Ok, thanks - I don't think we'll be getting told what to answer, if we are they'll be getting told that I'll be giving my own answers despite what they want me to say
As for flexible working, well..... My hours are flexible, but it normally works to their advantage rather than mine.....

Exactly - be honest with your answers. The people who do the interviews normall want a range of employees, from the shop floor, up to management. This gives them a true insight as to what is going on.
I've been in one of these, and its nothing to worry about. I did find that they were looking at body language too!

Re: Anybody been interviewed as part of IiP?
I mentioned the flexible working as I think it is why my hubby was 'randomly' picked as he was given the ok within the last year to work compressed hours.

The NHS is now doing this as there has been a freeze on recruitment (in our trust), so they're trying to keep hold of the half-decents ones.
I've been told by HR that its totally un-enforceable as the possible court costs would probably outweigh the cost of your training, so don't worry too much about that

I wouldn't be too sure about. You can expect a civil court to award the legal costs to the winner. Which wouldn't be you
