Re: Nannas
Ditto.
Really miss my Nan, I wish she were still alive today - she'd know exactly what to do and say to make me feel better.
Merry Christmas Nan x

Re: Nannas
I used to go various times every week i swear now i have never tasted a better sunday dinner than she made the gravy was quite disturbing it was so good i so wish i paid more attention now and her home made chips oh god you would have murdered for them. I once went and forgot to take some cream cakes home with me and left them on a table or sideboard got to bustop and realised went back to find my nanas face covered in fresh cream she said i though i left them for her of all the memories none makes me miss her more than that one . ooh it must be time for some commas or a full stop. Remember the night she died ooh what a carry on i bet the pope doesnt have a night like it its a wonder the bed didnt collapse with people saying goodbye she was only out of her house a few hours at the funeral place till she got back . Was really interesting seeing people that week who knew her who i didnt know about telling me about stuff. Oh some people do ramble on

Re: Nannas
My Gran was a tartar and a witch. She always knew when I'd broken the rules like paddling in the river.Took me years to realise that all her mates would tell her what they had seen me doing..Right old spy ring she had.
I also used to laugh at both her and my Grandad arguing about the TV.She loved murder mysteries and he loved cowboy films.Which ever one got to watch their program the other would talk all the way through the show.
However she and he were the most generous of people. No visitor ever left their house without some gift even if it was only windfalls from the fruit trees or a bunch of flowers or a cabbage.Good people and I have missed them both since she died in 72 and he in 86.
Never knew my other grandparents. They died when I was 6 months old in a motorbike accident.By all accounts she was a tartar too.

Both mine died about 6 months after having massive strokes, 13 & 30 years ago.
They where both smokers, and I have never smoked.

Re: Nannas
I'm lucky, I have an adopted nanna (my wife's mother) - my gran and granny both passed away in the 70's.

Re: Nannas
I got confused and thought you were talking about 'nanna's as in 'bananas'... I wondered what the hell you'd been smoking before peeling!!!!
