1999 Millennium Eve
This time 10 years ago (ekkk - what happened to those years!) we were all looking forward to ringing in the new millennium.
What did you do to celebrate the turn of the new millennium?

Re: 1999 Millennium Eve
I went to The Sanctuary, Milton Keynes to what was to be the last Helter Skelter event there. It was called the Millennium Jam. The event was heavily over priced like most for that night and as a result only half the arenas where open however this was a blessing in dis guess as it felt like a dreamscape rave from back in the day with all types of music played in the same arena such as drum n bass, hardcore and techno. I'm pleased I went.

Re: 1999 Millennium Eve
Decided everywhere was far too expensive to go out, so had a house party instead. One of the best new years since everyone also seemed to have decided that people were overcharging, so it was a pretty good turn out.

If the age in your profile is right you would have been more than a bit underage...

Re: 1999 Millennium Eve
Spent an absolute fortune for tickets to get into a well known Irish bar franchise and then ~25 minutes after midnight, was waiting in casualty because some old bint got a bit to boistrous and knocked my (ex)girlfriend over, fracturing her ankle.
Didn't have to pay New Years taxi fares to get home though

Re: 1999 Millennium Eve
I had the flu but as I had bought tickets to my local I wasn't going to miss it so I drugged myself up and went. Would have wanted to party harder but I do remember the fireworks going off in Paris

Re: 1999 Millennium Eve
I celebrated the new year's arrival with 50 or so close friends in a hut in the middle of our local allotments. The police came, decided we weren't vandals, saw the size of the barbecue, eyed up the booze and stayed to keep us company.

Re: 1999 Millennium Eve
I was "working"... earning a fortune for being on standby in case our routers and switches fell victim to this millennium bug. In other words we sat in the print room playing cards all night.

Re: 1999 Millennium Eve
A bunch of us went for a night out in London, & stayed over at a friends' house.
It was a pretty good night, from what I can remember. Well, apart from the "River of Fire!" being complete crap. And the buses after midnight being horrendously overcrowded.
