Red face 4:3 - 16:9 From Camcorder Via PC to DVD - Plz Help

Hi All,

I am having a bit of difficulty, my Camcorder is a Sony DCR-HC45 and It uses Mini DV tapes.

When I connect this to my TV Via the Audio Video Cables (Red White and Yellow) to the camcorders Docking station, and play back my Video it appears Widescreen, I know it's "NOT" True widescreen, somehow the TV is stretching it, but this is not stretched too much and theres no loss in the picture, IE; It's not been cropped.

When I upload the Video to the PC, I Try to render it so it appears better Quality than the "Tape" by rendering it in 1280 x 720, Even when I do this I end up with a 4:3 Video on the PC, Sometimes the Video appears better than the original, sometimes not.

My problem is when I burn the Video to a DVD, It just ends up in 4:3, Not stretched like when I connect the Camcorder via the TV.

This is so frustrating...........

Anyway, I managed to try editing my Video on Sony Vegas as a mate has a copy, When I followed the youtube tutorial on how to stretch 4:3 to 16:9 it made it look simple, by just changing the "Crop" to "Main Aspect Ratio" to "NO" and "Stretch to Fill Frame" to Yes the Video on youtube showed an Automatic Stretch to 16:9, It Even said that doing this "Can" make certain people in video's look shrunk and kind of fat.

I don't mind this to be honest, but when I did it in sony Vegas the 4:3 Video didnt stretch automatically. But when I burned it to DVD it was Widescreen like I wanted, However, another problem arose, the Video had been cropped, so I was missing heads and things.

So..........Heres a run down of what I am trying to do in an easy sentance.

I want to take the Video off my Camcorder, and "Edit" it by adding Text, Cutting segments out, and so on, And I then want to be able to put that edited Video on to a DVD and play it back on my TV in 16:9 "EVEN IF" the video appears a little squashed. As it appears a little squashed anyway when I connect the camcorder to the TV. What I don't want to have is a loss of any of the picture.

Can anyone please help, I am really desperate to get a solution to this problem and it's really getting on my "Nipples".
