Labour has been accused of relying on the 'welfare vote' after the Conservatives published a provocative league table ranking Commons seats according to the number of benefit claimants.

It isnt really that surprising is it?
"Traditional labour territory" normally refers to the old mining/ship building/industrial areas which obviously gave higher unemployment levels.

Stop press: Poor areas vote Labour, rich areas vote Tory.
In other breaking news the Titanic sinks.

Or areas that vote Labour, don't attract investment and therefore do badly and areas that vote Tory, attract investment and do well.

"with this, therefore because of this" is the fallacy committed when one jumps to a conclusion about causation based on a correlation between two events, or types of event, which occur simultaneously - also known as "false cause".
I am surprised you didn't recognise it, Gary - it's one of your trademarks.

Erm. There is no such thing as Belgian as a language. People in Belgium speak Dutch (Flemish if you like) or French, and there's a small minority that speak German.

Well, if they use nonsense statistics, to prove something which doesn't exist, what would you expect people to say about them?
