Re: Breathing Issues

The flu may well have gotten on your chest and caused some infection. My friend was just like you and left it for weeks thinking it would clear itself up. She was signed off work yesterday with bronchitis because she ignored it. Go the docs

edit:- just seen your reply, call them and have a phone consultation.

Re: Breathing Issues

Sorry, what I should have said, coffee has not kicked in yet.

Contact a medical professional, no-one on a forum can really offer a proper diagnosis.

Re: Breathing Issues

Swine flu acts basically like to different viruses. In most cases its just a flu with stomach problems. In other cases and these are by far the worst it attacks deep in the lungs and cause respiratory distress . This can often become pneumonia and this part is hard to treat. You seriously need to get this sorted.

Also bare in mind you can have swine flu without the fever no matter what all the bullplop you have been told. 10 % of confirmed cases have presented without a fever. Source New Scientist

Re: Breathing Issues

My wife had Swine Flu a couple of weeks ago, and after it had (according to the doctor) a "post-viral cough" (but had the same symptoms as you) - he advised rest and plenty of liquids.

Re: Breathing Issues

If you want a quick fix go to the Chemist and get some chesteeze they'll give some comfort breathing, these will open your lung passages thus increasing the air getting into your lungs. They are only £1.25 for a pack of 9 and are good. I used them a few weeks ago when I had a bad chest.
