GU10 energy saving bulbs

Hi guys does any use these? If so where is the cheapest place to buy them?

wouldn't mind knowing this myself, I believe you can get LED ones now but they are expensive, but my house is littered with GU10 and they cost a ruddy fortune at the local supermarket, and never seem to last long at all

I think LED is the way to go if energy saving is your main concern

There are a few on e bay, I use a combination of the 2. The LED GU 10 is useless, unless you go for at least a 60 LED bulb, (3w) about £6.00 each.

The 11w instant cool white energy saver is a nice light, (not spotlight effect, quite a broad beam) at about £4.00.

LED is the future, but they do have problems. Of the 30 LED`s myself & my friend bought, 9 have failed. These are the "Lustrumlight" bulbs.

None of my energy savers have given any problems.

I suspect LED`s will become cheaper as more people switch to them, however, the cost is probably more than the cost of the juice you would save.

These LED bulbs are much cheaper at Lidl when they're available as a special offer.

There is an LED80 GU10 currently available but you will need deep pockets

I have been installing loads of these lately

They are ok as a general light, but not good enough yet if you wanted to read or thread a needle lets say, unless you were right below it.

I have been buying these at £15.00 + VAT each which is a bit annoying, as you will see here....
