Bolier help please : Valliant Eco tec plus !
Hi all
Eco is a good word for this bolier as it's switched it self off !
The bolier is displaying a fault code of F22 which relates to possible low water pressure according to the instruction book. The book however does not really explain how to increase the pressure.
BG are quoting £180 for a fix but would hate to pay that just before christmas if anyone out there could help.
So I am sating here with a screw driver and hammer awaiting any advice on which to use first.
Many thanks for your time
Kind regards
Mike

In my valiant there is a little black lever at the back right (underneath) that you turn to refill the system with water (and this increase the pressure).
I will try and take a picture in a moment to show what I mean.
I have added a piccy and circled the lever i mean (badly I know

go to troubleshooting ,
edit , still doesn't show the top up valve , it will be underneath , look for the cold water feed and then a pipe (normally a steel reinforced flexible pipe) from the cold feed to the central heating feed it will have a small tap on it , hard to explain really ....

underneath the BOILER there will be loads of pipes 2 of them will be connected by a silver flexible pipe with a tap at each end ,turn one of the taps untill you hear water going into the system at the same time watch the pressure gauge and when it reaches about 1.5 bar then shut of the tap
just seen youre piccy that's the one you've ringed

Re: Bolier help please : Valliant Eco tec plus !
Mike, does it at least have the valves where the pipe should be? You have a pressurised system, so there must be somewhere to top up when the pressure drops.
Technically, the installation shouldn't have the flexible pipe permanently fixed because of the possibility of contaminated water being forced back into the mains supply, so it's actually not a faulty installation as such if the pipe isn't already in place. Increasingly, in very modern installations, the fitter will leave the pipe in place though, because it's just easier when the inevitable day comes and you need to use it. It's a bit of a faff fixing it in place just for a 10-second blast of cold water.
Having said all that, if the person who fitted your boiler followed the regs to the letter and did not leave that pipe permanently attached, he should have left it close by ready for you to use when you needed it. The question is, have you ever seen a flexible hose like that around your house? And which very safe place have you put it?

Surely that's only likely to be the case if it's a very new installation? If it's a bit older it would be more likely to be as I've described ...
