Have I done the right thing?

It was my birthday last week and not once did I get a message from my brother or sister to wish me happy birthday.

Also my step mum and mother have never got on but my mum normally keeps quiet. Recentley my nan died. The man my nan was married to is not my mums real father but he has been as close as one to her then her real father.

My stepmum made this comment. Now your nan has died your mum will move on to him(My nans husband). I said she would not but this upset me. I only never said anything cause my dad is not well and I did not want to upset him.

But now just sent my dad this message.

I am sorry but I am not going to let my brother and sister get me down anymore. I am washing my hands with both of them. And if my stepmum continues to make comments about my mum like she did the other night we will be falling out to. I am not having it anymore.

Did I do the right thing?

At the end of the day - if there's anything I've learned in the past year or so, it's that only you are in control of your life...

If you felt it was right to send that message then they have to respect your wishes.
