Re: kellogg's corn fakes ?
"putting some into each box"
The fakes just have to put a handful in theirs then... Defeats the point! Do it right or don't do it at all I say

It may not be so much a case of selling more products, but more a case of protecting their brand.
Say someone buys a fake packet of cornflakes from somewhere (say, a pound shop). They get ill due to something being wrong with the flakes. Who do they blame? The unknown company who produced the dodgy copy, or Kellogs (whose branding is all over the packet)? Bearing in mind that they may not be aware that they bought a fake.

Proberly made by Kelloggs
Almost every "Store brand" are made in one factory.
A few years ago Tesco got done for having a Sainsbury brand on their shelves, or it was the otherway round.

There is that, but there is also the problem that the ASA might get involved if they do, as they do advertise that they don't make cornflakes for anyone else.
Having said that, I don't think the ASA could get involved if Kellogs bought flakes from someone who manufactured flakes for someone else (technically, Kellogs wouldn't be making the flakes for anyone, not even themselves).

You'd think, but then you'd think that Toothpaste wouldn't be worth copying, but there was that case a couple of years ago where someone flooded the pound shops with fake copies of one of the big brands of toothpaste (Colgate IIRC) that were poisonous under certain circumstances.

Am I the only one who thinks this is just an attempt to get some media exposure without there being plans to actually do this?
