Sore eyeball...
Hello! I am searching for some advice. I have a very sore eyeball....feels like it's bruised. This is day 2 and i'm a little concerned. It's a little red (has been for a few wks). No puss or anything. I don't have health ins, so i don't want to make an unnecessary trip to the Dr. This is very strange...i've never had anything like this b4. Has anyone ever had this b4??

Re: Sore eyeball...
By the way, I also have been having sinus pain in my face and pressure in my ears the past few days too. Do u think it could be related to the sore eyeball??

Re: Sore eyeball...
Go to the Doctors straight away......NOW! You need sending to a eye clinic at hospital.
It sounds like Iritis, if you leave it too late you will need an injection in the eyeball to help it on its way to mend.
Please go today , do not leave it any longer.
Personal experience of it here.

Re: Sore eyeball...
Are you American you mention insurance? Sounds to me like you need to see an ENT doctor as a layman it sound like you could have a sinus infection which may be leading to the feeling of pressure as all the cavities in your skull are connected and can easily effect each other.
Is there a not somewhere you can go without insurance?

Re: Sore eyeball...
Sounds like Iritis to me as well. Anyway you should indeed go see a doctor or optician asap. I know I bang on about it but the last time I waited I lost most of my sight which could well have been saved.
Take no chances - go now !

Not really, but you can get very confused to what is going on as the build of pressure connected with the eye ends of being so full on you do not know where the pain is coming from in the end!
When I got my first attack and just left it and then got treated by a GP for the wrong thing, the pain was unbearable and you actually want to pull your eye out it gets so bad.
It may not be Iritis of course but as Thomas says it is dangerous to leave anything too long as more serious things can happen is delay in treatment happens.

Sounds like if the pressure of the eye, is causing "pain" now - you need to go to Out of hours surgery.. like.. now .. or phone NHS Direct 08454647 they will be able to give you instant advice.
