Mobile Internet Options.

Got a daughter who has just gone to university and is in need of the internet on her Laptop .The only choice I can see is mobile internet but as money is a issue idealy she is after something that will give her a reasonable amount of use per month. Also if possible it does not allow her to go over her usage as then it can become expensive .
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Re: Mobile Internet Options.

Son uses vodaphone 3gb for £25 IIRC

This site has some good comparisons
http://mobile.broadbandgenie.co.uk/3.../pay-as-you-go

Only thing with mobile BB is cost for extra usage so it would be better to find one that doesnt allow over usage.

Re: Mobile Internet Options.

I have used pretty much ever provider as a test with the mobile working project at work and Vodafone comes out top for been a decent connection with Three second. O2 was very poor, didnt enjoy using that one and Orange cant remember the feedback on that one, didnt test that one myself. I have a Vodafone one for home use and cant complain, quicker than my work broadband at times!

Re: Mobile Internet Options.

Don't most universities have access to their LAN / intranet via their internal Wi-Fi or wired connection?

Re: Mobile Internet Options.

T-Mobile, £15 for 3GB FUP, lasts 30 days. No overage charges at all. Dongle costs £30, then just top up as and when needed.

You can also have £2/day or £10 for 7 days too if you don't use it much. £15 for 30 days is the best option though.

Like I say, no overage charges EVER, no matter how much you go over 3GB.

You might want to check coverage at her postcode. I can't get T-mobile 3G where I live, just outside Cambridge.
