task assessment advice please

Hi all, I've got a task assessment on monday, hopefully leading to an interview and fingers crossed a job as a learning support assistant with a local college.
the problem is that i've been given no idea as to what the assessment entails, and suffer badly from nerves. In the past i've worked in heavy industry or IT, and although the adult learning sector is the change of direction i am looking for, i wasnt expecting to be in this position so soon...(I've applied for ReAct funding from the welsh assembly to pay for related courses, and thought i'd have time to get at least one of them completed before a job was within my reach)
anyways..the question is, can anyone enlighten me as to what i should expect on the assesment?

Re: task assessment advice please

Caveat: I don't know exactly what type of people you'll be giving learning support to, so my experience training adults in the workplace might not match your job.

But:

Look at the job description in the ad - that'll give you an idea of the skills and behaviours they're looking for, so unless they're idiots they'll design the assessment process to enable you to demonstrate those skills and behaviours.

Using open questioning to guide the learner towards discovering the answer for themselves (instead of just telling them) and being able to give feedback in a positive way, are always good skills to have in the learning biz, so you could try practising those.

Also objective setting is good; finding in advance what they want to achieve, setting an objective that matches, planning out a learning route that meets the objective, practising a couple of times (the more you do something the easier it is to retain) and recapping to confirm they've met the objective.

That any use?
