Feeling run down.
Feeling really run down at the moment.
Issues at work, Worries about getting my daughters car repaired and back on the road, etc etc and after having swine flu which turned to mild pneumonia last month, i`ve got yet another bloody head cold.! Runny nose and sore throat, tired, getting really peed off with this now.
Someone in the family suggested Multi vitamin tabs, do these work at all?
Cheers.

Re: Feeling run down.
If your immune system takes a real hammering with something like flu and pneumonia then you can become susceptible to every cough and cold going for a period of months afterwards. Lots of rest and exercise will do you nicely. If you have a good balanced diet you shouldn't need vitamin supplements but it doesn't hurt to try them.
Most of all, talk to someone you trust about your issues with work and the car and try to map a positive way forward. Stress and worry certainly won't help you shake off those ailments.

Re: Feeling run down.
Cheers Chris, I`ll try to do that. I just feel that things are getting the better of me at the moment.
My immune system seems to be low most of the time due to the fact i had Hodgkins when i was 26 and the radiotherapy messed up my thyroid gland.
Ought to go back to the doctors and get some more bloods done i guess.
Thanks anyway.

Re: Feeling run down.
I think multivitamins are beneficial if you don't have a balanced diet. Otherwise a waste of cash for what is really a placebo.
It sounds more like you're a bit run down because of stresses in your life, not helped by the fact that you're body is still recovering from your recent illness. How do you normally relax? Is a weekend break (even better a fortnight ) a possibility.
Easier said than done I know, but try to chill and relax a bit.
Have a rant on one of the more controversial topic on CF ; that always helps to release steam. (note to mods - I am not responsible for anything Bud posts tonight )

You have my sympathies. The suggested supplements are echinacea and Vitamin C in concentrated high doses. Echinacea worked for me when I had my last cold. Eating lots of fruit helps as Vitamin C's supposed to be very good for boosting the immune system for the fight against the common cold / flu.

Cheers Lucy.
Stay off the pills (Only taking the Levothyroxine at the mo)
Surround yourself with good folk ( I have those already and my little baby girl)
Think positive ( I do, Its all the other wasters)
Eat good healthy food ( Got another chicken curry on the go which will last me 3 days!)
Go out for walks and look at what is good in the world (trees and new born of any variety do it for me) ( I see a lot of good in the worls and random acts of kindness which cheer me up no end, I also see a lot of what the scum in this world do, and it ****es me right off)
Cheers again Lucy. x

Re: Feeling run down.
What Lucy says is good advice mate. Natural endorphins.
Get you and that baby girl of yours walking outside and put some miles in.
Don't worry about the weather - there's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing.
And remember, it won't always be bad news. Sticky times for all of us, you're not on your own - think positive, eat well, sleep enough and turn all that negativity on it's head - don't let it get you down.
