i have recently been introduced to aunt bessie's frozen mashed potato
as the only mash lover in my house i never get any, its always boiled new pots and or roasties ,to much messing about mash for one person ,but now joy abounds i just chuck some mash in the microwave and bobs your uncle [bessie's] your aunt .
any one else got any food life savers they wish to share ?

Re: the greatest invention ever
I prefer real mash. Bit more of a chore though. Boil a potato, then crush it in a potato ricer (essentially a large garlic press). Serve with butter/marge/salt as desired.

Re: the greatest invention ever
Aunt Bessie's is real mash, frozen in circle shapes for easy portioning, it's pretty plain but you can add whatever you want to it

Doesn't taste like fresh mash but it's a good substitute.
Real fresh mash wins hands down.
I've tried the Aunt Bessies stuff - heat on low gas and stir every time with wooden spoon (is the way I did make it)

Re: the greatest invention ever
Corrected.. The forum software seems to have issues if your URL contains a ) at the end (for some reason, it puts the [/url] tag before the close bracket.
