Angry Ebay makes me mad.

This stupid thing with you have to offer FREE Postage with certain items.
I'm sitting here trying to work it out whether it's actually worth the effort of listing it, then wrapping it up and taking it to a Post Office. or just throwing the damn things in the bin.

It looks too expensive as a BIN, but someone's got to pay the postage.
you can actually stich yourself up if you were to list something for 99p start price. it will cost you about £2-£3 to post it, and the 10p or so fees to Ebay.

Just wish Google would hurry up and start gBay. eBay needs to be told they can't do this to me anymore!

That's what's killing it. you get screwed all over. you sell something for £50 and you only get about £35.

Sorry but if you're losing 30% of the sale price then you;re doing it wrong..

Even taking into account listing, final valuation, paypal it should never be that much

Re: Ebay makes me mad.

IMO eBay and Paypal should be two separately owned companies... its just a bit unfair to the consumer that whatever happens, ebay makes cash from it.

I agree with that, i'm never using ebay again the fees are way too much and paypal is useless I got charged twice today for paypal fees which made me go overdrawn at my bank and got charged for that (£25 for going overdrawn and £6 for a day) grr

It's about 16%. Ebay and their other comapny Paypal take about 10% and 4% each, then you've got the original listing fees. and then if you didn't set a postage fee it all mounts up.

Sell it for £50 - Ebay = £5 Paypal = £2 then you got the listing and possibly the postage costs.

Re: Ebay makes me mad.

Why wouldn't you set a postage fee?? Unless of course it's a fixed price buy it now item.. Anyone not setting a postage fee on a minimum priced auction has no money sense..

Re: Ebay makes me mad.

What bugs me most is when people make money from postage, that really gets me.

I once had lets say, a disagreement with someone over inflated postage costs who pleaded that had to drive miles to nearest post office, petrol, his time, blah blah blah but after popping his address into multimap I found the post office was at the end of his street!

Would love to have seen his face when I revealed that to him lol
