Vodafone Freedom Packs
I have a Vodafone PAYG mobile and I am on the Smartstep price plan.
I have been looking in to these Freedom Packs and was wondering if there is anyone else out there that uses them?
Are they worth it compared to the older tarrifs, any good or bad things about them?
Cheers
Andy

Re: Vodafone Freedom Packs
I used to use them - they're pretty good value, I always had the £20 pack which gave me 300 minutes and unlimited texts.

Re: Vodafone Freedom Packs
Cheers for the feedback...
How do they work though?
For example, I have £11 credit on my phone right now, if I got a £10 pack I know it would only last for 30 days, when that is over, would my credit be the same or would it go back to zero?
Also, if i use more minutes than the pack allows does anyone know what i would be charged? The latest tariff charges 20p per min flat rate where as Smartstep is 30ppm for the first 3 mins then 5ppm after...
Ahhh, confused dot com lol

Re: Vodafone Freedom Packs
Well my wfe has just changed onto a contract from PAYG.
£15 for 24 months 300 mns unlimited texts and a new phone (Nokia 5530)
As she has been spending £20+ on the smartstep plan each month I see it as great deal.
The problem with the smartstep is the 30p/min for the first 3 mins each day, f you only make 1 or 2 short calls a day you are getting ripped off.

Re: Vodafone Freedom Packs
It takes £10 from your credit immediately. Unless you use something outside of what the pack gives you, at the end of the 30 days you'd be left with £1. After that your usual tariff applies.

Re: Vodafone Freedom Packs
Your Freedom pack choice deducts the credit from your phone. So if you had £11 and bought a £10 pack, you'd have £1 of credit left, and get 100 minutes and 300 texts.
I'm considering it because I've spent about £30 in the past 3 weeks I think. I need to ring Vodafone and work out exactly how many top-ups I've done. I've lost count of late!

Thats the thing, I do not top up often and do not want to lose any credit if i do not fully take advantage of the pack...
I think i put £20 on 2 months ago and then £10 at the weekend when i got a new phone.
Sounds like i would not be better off unless I use the phone more methinks....
?
