Advice! (Ooops I broke a tooth @*&*&^&*)
Just eating my dinner and i bit down on something hard and broke the corner of one of my molars, didn't feel it so I don't think it was that far in, just feels jagged. Now problem is, I don't think I have a dentist anymore as I was with the NHS and haven't been in about 4 or 5 years, but my teeth seem otherwise in good health IMO.
Any suggestions on what I should do next?

Re: Advice! (Ooops I broke a tooth @*&*&^&*)
Whatever you do don't ignore it and make sure you get it sorted right away before anymore damage is done. I once broke a tooth and left it a few months until it started hurting by which time it was to late and i lost the tooth!
I guess you need to find a dentist either Private or NHS but not sure the best way other than a google search or yellow pages, or asking friends where they go.

Either that, or file it down whilst downing lots of whiskey.

Re: Advice! (Ooops I broke a tooth @*&*&^&*)
Jenna suffers a lot with her sensitive teeth so I always keep a tube of 5% lidocaine in the fridge (yes in the fridge as it lasts longer) and/or strong co-codamols (they help her get to sleep)
Are you in pain with it? If you are then try ringing up your doctor and explaining the pain and the appointment is a day or two away, they'll normally give you a few tablets

Nah didn't hurt when I did it, doesn't hurt now (yet and hopefully won't) I just wondered what the hard thing in my curry was, thought it was a cardamom pod to begin with

Re: Advice! (Ooops I broke a tooth @*&*&^&*)
We have emergency dental treatment clinics round here for when you cannot get into a dentist for days or do not have one. If it plays up before your appointment call your dentist and ask if there is one in the area if they cannot bring your appointment forward.

Orajel.About £3.50 in Asda,£4.00 at the chemists.Like novacaine in gel form.Saved my life between April and July this year with two broken molars.
Get treated as soon as you can,the complications from an uneven bite made my life a misery with mouth ulcers so bad I needed antibiotics.

Hard Thing in Curry: Could have been a diamond....why didn't you look?!?!?! You might be rich and not know it...
Even teeth are harder than cardomom pods??
Or the curry house might not like you so instead of cardomom they put little pebbles in
Hope you get sorted... tooth problems DO get worse, it might not hurt but it might cause other issues...

I broke my tooth on a bone in a Tesco hot chicken tikka masala.
They are paying for a my treatment etc.
PS it was 1/2 a wishbone but the small 1/2.

Only problem with co-codamol is the constapation that comes with it and the addiction, I love co-codamol (prefer codine phosphate) & senna-MAX

I always have a box of 100 (500/30's) in for my knee I shattered many years ago which put an end to my RAF career Only ever take them when it starts aching to a point that it won't let me sleep..(They work better on me than sleeping pills!!!)
I think it takes me about 6 months to go through that box of 100 (and that's with Jen grabbing them for toothache every now and then... So no fear of the constipation or addiction with frequent use

Re: Advice! (Ooops I broke a tooth @*&*&^&*)
I'm back from the dentist, with a numb face and a filling, apparently the tooth in question had quite a deep cavity, but it was the only tooth in my mouth with any signs at the moment, no mention of gum disease and no decay elsewhere, feeling it slowly starting to return.

Re: Advice! (Ooops I broke a tooth @*&*&^&*)
Glad it's sorted out - And you got something else sorted before you lost the tooth completely!
