Question Seat belt warning light won't go out on my Astra

I've got an Astra Sri 2006, when i plug the drivers seat belt in the warning light and the beep doesn't stop!

Is there a way for me to disable it or do i have to take to garage to get it fixed?

Thanks for any help.

TBH I'd be very wary of buggering around with the seatbelt connector, it's one of the few things standing between you and a nasty headache if you get my drift.

Far better to get it looked at by your local friendly garage. If you don't have one locally that you trust I can recomnmend one about 20 minutes or so from the 'Location' in your profile.

Re: Seat belt warning light won't go out on my Astra

Thanks for the help, but after leaving the engine switched off for 30mins or so it now seems to be working as it should, so maybe it was a jammed relay like Kymmy said.

Re: Seat belt warning light won't go out on my Astra

The relay might not be anywhere near the seatbelt, on my volvo it's under the dash.. with an astra who know's...but a manual will soon tell you if someones got one they can take a peek for you..

I'm not sure why you've even posted this thread... The answer, to myself at least, is as easy as it is obvious... Get it down the garage!!!

Well that would be the last option really, if it was a case of pulling a fuse etc then i would have done that.

Re: Seat belt warning light won't go out on my Astra

Chances are, its either a relay, as Kymmy said, or it could possibly be a faulty sensor on the driver/passenger seat. Just monitor it and get it to an auto electrician if necessary. I know the sensors are expensive though
