http://web.archive.org/web/200312022...finalmeals.htm

Some "Refused last meal" while 1 had "Yogurt" listed......

Maybe those who refused thier last meal are the ones that feel guilty and sad about what they have done... Good theory?

Its sad they get a LAST MEAL in a way because the people that THEY MURDERED didnt have a choice for a last meal!

Re: Inmates on Death Row;last meals

All the death penalty does in the long run is brutalize society itself, for a so called Christian country the US is certainly lacking.
Add to that the death penalty does not deter crime in the slightest, America still has a very high murder rate and a very violent culture, somewhat strange its the last major democracy that still insists on executing its citizens.
The US isn't alone though, it can take pride that its in the same group as China, N Korea, Iran and Saudi Arabia.
My answer to people who commit pre=meditated murder is life imprisonment without the chance of parole, in some ways that could well be worse, I'm certainly glad we in the UK no longer have state sanctioned murder.

Re: Inmates on Death Row;last meals

i wonder if because they have been sitting on death row so long they can eat so much because either they have come to terms with the inevitable or they know that this is their 20th 'last meal' as the lawyer always finds some way to halt the killing?

The steaks and cheese burgers seem to be popular.

Re: Inmates on Death Row;last meals

Feels kinda horrible reading that. The Name of the people, their food preferences, just before the state kills them. Glad we are rid of the death penalty.
