Greenhouse
Hi All
I was considering getting a greenhouse, an 8x6ft. The ones I have seen are quite pricey, but I did see one at B&Q but thats just for the frame I think.

I was wondering if anyones bought a frame, like this, and then had to have the glass cut for it, and if so, was it worth it or would you have paid the extra to have the pre cut glass?

Re: Greenhouse
You could also consider plastic (polycarbonate) instead of glass

Re: Greenhouse
It looks like there's a polycarbonate glazing pack for another £84, although I'd check if the panels are pre-cut to size.
A lot safer than glass, especially if you have kids or nearby kids to consider.

Re: Greenhouse
Barewolf if you are seriously considering the B & Q one get your Grandad to register with them as pensioners can get 10% discount on Wednesdays.

I don't think you can use the Diamond card at the big Warehouse B & Qs but I know you can use it at the Stanley Green Trading Estate one.

Re: Greenhouse
Double skin polycarb is definately the way to go, especially with the winds we'll be getting. Just ensure you fit it the right way out (UV protection layer on one side only usually) and make sure you get the right securing system (not clips but quadrant strips). I also bolted mine on after a windy day distributed most of my panels into other gardens!
And I bet whatever size you get, you'll wish you had bought larger!
And don't forget the ground base, even if you are going to build up a breezeblock lower wall.
And then there's staging, auto window openers, auto louvre panel, heaters....
