What are other peoples views on the taking of drugs ie cannabis more so than heroin crack say compared to alcohol , is it because drinking alcohol isn't illegal that i think that because i partake in a drink i'm not so out of it compared to smokers or injecters or whatever they do to be said drug takers or should i just keep my thoughts to myself. No just writing this i need to think before , perhaps i should write stuff down before posting it , what im trying to say is that after being in the company of monged out smokers of cannabis i do think it oh god i dont know what im drivelling on about here . Why do i think being the odd time tidly is more acceptable than being high

am i more in control after a few pints than i would be after a few spliffs ?. I have tried cannabis 3 or 4 times maybe 1st time i was giggly other times it just made me feel unwell

. I really wanted to reply in another thread but i couldn't see a way to reply without getting in bother with my friends the moderators.

Not to forget the other side affects that canabis can cause - I personally, have never touched it and will never touch it - don;t see the need for it to be honest with you. I think any body who is "addicted" to anything, fags, drugs & drink just shows they are weak - yes thats harsh but its true.

I would say, you are in control more after a few pints and canabis does other wierd things, paranoid etc etc after constant usage.

Horses for courses. A mate of mine can't drink alcohol without becoming an obnoxious, arrogant troublemaker. He hasn't touched alcohol for over 25 years.

A bit of dope and he's fun.

I drink beer because I enjoy it. I'm also more comfortable in knowing my limitations with beer.

Different drugs will have different effects on different people.
Some people who drink alcohol will get violent whilst some will just laugh at everything.

Taking any type of drug, even prescribed drugs can affect your senses and therfore your ability of driving.

Nothing wrong with a bit of punctuation. As long as it's taken in moderation.

Sometimes a swift couple of commas can make the world understand you better. I'd stay off the colons though Man; that's heavy *****.

I had a colon with a couple of apostrophes once and I was out of it for days.

I think it's more about readibility, therefore others may understand your message better, and be able to respond, rather than having to try and work out what you mean (imho).

On your original point, remember that in earlier times, dope and other various drugs were not illegal, and it has been said many times that if someone tried to introduce tobacco or alcohol as a new form of enjoyment, it probably wouldn't be approved and would be illegal.

And as others have said, it is often horses for courses - being brought up in inner-city Glasgow, I saw the damage that excessive alcohol caused, which now seems to have been supplemented by heroin/jellies/etc.

I suppose the mantra is "moderation in all things", as excess in most things leads to negative outcomes.
