Worst present you have been given!
Reading that Jo is getting a new frount door for a Wedding anniversary present brought my memories flooding back of a birthday gifts I once recieved.
My husband gave my kids the following pressies to give to me.....
A packet of Gobstoppers.
A bag of mis-shaped chocolates.
A frying pan.
The writing was on the wall about the marriage after that..................

Anyone else got some naff presies?

Re: Worst present you have been given!
A smoke alarm, when I was in my mid teens, from my mother who was fed up with me going on about how we should have one. This was in the 80s when the campaigns by fire brigades to get everyone to have one were in their infancy. I think they may have come to our school or something. Obviously I got the message but mother dear was less convinced.

Not THE Worst, but I hate receiving gift vouchers in general, especially for places you'd never even consider shopping in and end up visiting just to get rid of the voucher on something vaguely pointless

Re: Worst present you have been given!
We hired the local church hall for our eldest son's 5th birthday, DJ, bouncy castle etc etc and made the mistake of inviting ALL his classmates.
Who goes to the effort of wrapping up a McDonalds Happy Meal Toy? He got 6 or 7 of them, 3 of which were identical!

lol, a couple of years back I got some for Woolworths, went in endless number of times and never saw anything I wanted. I wander why they went bust! Think they ended going through the washer after i'd left them in my jeans pocket.
Always get people to get me either Tesco or Argos voucher's now.

You don't think my husband is trying to get rid of me do you?
Come to think of it, the place where we went is next door to a Solicitors and he did leave me to talk to the stained glass designer for quite a long time while he said he had sorted out some details with the owner.

Re: Worst present you have been given!
I asked my first wife " what do you want for a birthday present?"
She said " a divorce!".
I replied - " I wasn't thinking of spending that much!".
(in the end, it was a bargain )
Worst present I ever got was from the RAF - they posted me on a four month training course to North Luffenham and Bletchley Park on my 21st birthday, so not only did I have to be repeatedly asked "Is it your birthday?" when I was doing the various and multiple signing ins and documentation you do when you temporarily swap bases, I was then repeatedly told " Oh, and it's your 21st birthday!".

I once got one of those mini guns that fires foam hoops. Absolutely pointless.

Re: Worst present you have been given!
A padded red checked lumberjack shirt which as I am not a lumberjack nor do I live in Alaska was rather a surprise.
Some pink socks from a girl I refused to go out with, I say a girl but she was distinctly larger than me to say the least with a lantern jaw, I think she was trying to say something with the socks.
