and he never had spares when he brought it 2nd hand
i think he'll be looking for me to help him soon

now how should we go to get it done?
should we go back to the main dealer (N reg Nissan i think)?
a local garage??
or some kinda locksmith??
and what kinda work will be done to the car??
how would they get access into the car?
change of all locks and ignition?
dunno if the car have immobiliser
any1 knows of a place that deals with this in the Bournemouth/Poole area?
and whats the price range??

Re: Lost car keys
The main dealer may be able to help if they keep a record of the key number from the chassis number / VIN. The best thing to do would be to call them to see what your options are.

Re: Lost car keys
My Dad has done the exact same, he has a focus with an immobiliser, they used a special tool for feeling the tubblers in the door lock, then cut a key from that and then reprogrammed with a different code so if the original keys were found they wouldnt be able to start the car.
In total it cost him £180 which included new keys.
Ford's wanted the car for 2 to 3 days at a cost of over £400, saying they would have to drill the lock and replace the door and ignition locks, (utter horse pooh)
He was actually given the number by a ford mechanic in warrington so cant help you in your area but the name of the company was Autoelectronics.
sorry I cant be of more help to you.

It sounds as though we used the same firm pabscars. We used a firm called Autoelectronix who are based in Warrington and were happy to come out to us in Manchester when the key jammed in the lock of our Ford Focus. Shame they aren't a national firm.

Re: Lost car keys
You could try Ashley Security on Ashley Road in Parkstone and see if they have any ideas if that's fairly near to you

Re: Lost car keys
I locked my key in my Nissan and as it was second hand had no spares.I had to get the car towed to the nearest Nissan dealership(courtesy of the RAC) and Nissan got it open and gave me a spare key as well.It cost me very little, about £20.

Re: Lost car keys
thanks for the advice guys
my stupid friend found his keys
he went to tesco with a friend riding friends car
where he used his key fob thingy
and when putting the shopping into the boot of the car
he placed his keys in the side gap where the boot closes down onto
luckily this mourning he checked the car over a few times
and his keys was reflecting light from the sun so he was able to see it
well good to how bad it is to lose car keys
and make sure i don't lose my own 1s
BTW:
hes now looking to make spare keys for the car
does all locksmith makes them
or does he need to find a specialist??
